Sunday 7th September- A Quiet but Meaningful Day at Chapel-en-le-Frith Town Hall

Sunday’s event at Chapel-en-le-Frith Town Hall was a gentle one- small, community-focused, and not the busiest fair I’ve worked at, but still full of heart. This was my second time at this little venue, and I’ve come to appreciate the slower pace it brings. Not every event has to be packed to be meaningful. The town hall in Chapel-en-le-Frith has that unmistakable community-hub feel: local people dropping in, familiar faces helping to run things, and a warm, homely atmosphere. It’s not a large venue, but what it lacks in scale it often makes up for in friendliness.

There’s something grounding about being in a place where everything is straightforward and authentic. One of the best parts of the day was having my mum accompany me. She doesn’t come to every event, so when she does, it becomes a lovely bonding experience. We had time to chat on the drive over, laugh about little things, and enjoy the day together in a way that’s rare in the rush of everyday life. She helped me set up, kept me company during quieter spells, and got to see first-hand what the event world looks like behind the scenes-  the other stallholders, the atmosphere, the ebb and flow of visitors. It felt special to share that part of my world with her.

Sometimes the quieter events are the ones where you get the space for those deeper moments. Although it wasn’t busy, the clients who did come for tarot readings were thoughtful, open, and ready for guidance. The calm pace meant I could take my time with each person, really sink into the cards and offer support without feeling rushed. Those one-to-one connections can be incredibly powerful, and I walked away feeling grateful for each conversation.
