What a rewarding day it was on Saturday 1st November 2025, delivering readings and my talk at the beautiful Heskin Hall in Chorley. Heskin Hall is a striking Tudor manor house in Lancashire, dating back to around 1545-1548. Situated in eight acres of grounds and surrounded by countryside, it’s a Grade I listed building- one of the best surviving examples of its kind in the North West. Today it serves as an events and wedding venue, as well as housing antiques, vintage traders and more. I worked for Sue at the venue (and I first met Sue at a previous event with All Our Love Events). It’s always lovely when professional connections become friendly ones- and seeing some familiar faces among other practitioners added a warm dimension to the day. It’s a real pleasure to get to know others in this space, beyond just being across tables at the same event.
This time the setting felt more intimate than larger fairs I’ve done recently. The historic surroundings of Heskin Hall brought a gentle gravitas: high-beamed ceilings, old stone, that sense of place with many years’ echoes behind it. I delivered my usual tarot readings, and also gave my talk (you know the one!). With a smaller audience, the talk became quieter, more personal. More time for questions. More space for reflection. I noticed that people in the crowd seemed more comfortable opening up, sharing thoughts, asking deeper questions. That is exactly what I aim for. In the tarot readings afterwards I was blessed to connect with clients who needed guidance and seemed ready to engage with the themes we touched in the talk. The synergy between talk and reading felt strong.
I left the day feeling fulfilled, enthused and connected. This kind of event- not the biggest-scale, but deep and meaningful- reminds me why I do what I do. Many thanks to Sue for inviting me and for creating the environment, and to everyone who came by, listened, shared and read with me. I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to bring tarot & talk into spaces like this- historic, beautiful, meaningful.
