Kicking Off 2026 in Style at The Kings Arms Hotel, Bolton
There's something quite fitting about starting a brand new year by doing what I love most – reading Tarot and connecting with wonderful people. Monday 19th January marked my very first event of 2026, and what a way to begin! This special evening took place at The Kings Arms Hotel in Bolton, a venue with some lovely personal connections. The landlady and I have crossed paths over the years through mutual local circles so when she approached me about hosting what would be the hotel's very first Tarot event, I was genuinely honoured. Even more so when she trusted me to read for her, her friends, and all the guests who came along.
At nearly eight months pregnant, I won't pretend I wasn't feeling the weight of carrying a little assistant around with me! Baby is due in March, so every event feels that little bit more special knowing it's one of my last before maternity leave. Thankfully, the evening's energy kept me going, and the excitement in the room made me forget all about the aching feet.
We transformed the venue into one of my pop-up spiritual spaces, complete with the shop set-up, crystals, gifts and all the magical bits that make these evenings so enjoyable. Seeing everything come together so beautifully was incredibly rewarding.
The event completely sold out, creating such a fantastic atmosphere from the moment guests arrived. I read for a wonderful mix of people throughout the evening – from those who regularly seek guidance from Tarot to a few faces who I suspect never imagined they'd find themselves sitting opposite a Tarot reader! Those are often my favourite readings, as it's amazing to see scepticism turn into curiosity and genuine amazement. One particularly memorable moment came when I somehow managed to get chatted up during a reading! Much to my partner's amusement... or perhaps not so much! In fairness, I think the admirer was so engrossed in the reading that he completely failed to notice the rather obvious baby bump. We'll laugh about that one for years to come!
Financially, the evening couldn't have come at a better time too. Running a sold-out event with plenty of shop sales means I'm able to head into maternity leave feeling much more prepared. As any self-employed parent-to-be will know, every successful event before baby arrives makes a huge difference and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and supported my little business. It was also the perfect opportunity to debut my beautiful new Emma of Earth sign, which has completely transformed my display and really makes my space feel even more professional. A huge thank you goes to Phoenix Creations for creating such a stunning piece – I absolutely love it!
A massive thank you to everyone who attended, to The Kings Arms Hotel for putting their faith in something a little different and especially to the landlady for inviting me to be part of such a lovely first for the venue. I truly hope it's the first of many magical evenings there.
Here's to an exciting 2026… and to squeezing in a few more events before Baby decides it's their turn to make an entrance!
